Guilty Pleasures

There are so many choices these days.  I'm not talking about any one thing.  I'm talking
about everything.  TV shows, foods, clothes!  You name it and there are going to be options.  Sometimes it's overwhelming!  Ok.  Let me take a breath and stop rambling so you can tell exactly what I'm talking about.  I'm talking about getting too much of too many good things.

My first guilty pleasure is Glee.  It's official I'm a "Gleek"!  I have seen every episode several times.  Before I was a "Gleek", I was all about Criminal Minds, CSI and Law & Order SVU.  I have also seen all of those episodes several times.  Thank goodness for DVR.  LOL  And when the new shows come out, I find it hard to record all of the shows I want to see because some of them come on at the same time and I can only record 2 shows at a time.  Decisions!  Decisions!  I have found a way around that too.  Internet!

So while I'm enjoying my shows I like to have a snack.  Most of the time I have something healthy, but there are times when I need something with a little more umph!  You know - chocolate or chocolate or some more chocolate!  There's with peanuts, with toffee, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, with coconut, etc.  Too many choices!  I just need to get a variety and ration it out over a period of time.

I was going to share all my guilty pleasures with you but I have shows to watch and snacks to eat!  Just kidding!  This blog would end up being long and repetitive I'm sure.  What are your guilty pleasures?  I can't wait to see.

Later.

I Got a New Perspective

Have you had a life changing experience?  I recently had such an experience.
I know I'm young, but it really did change the way I view life.  I had the pleasure of hanging out with the most amazing, brave, kind, loving group of people ever!  I was invited to tag along with Kids for Courage to Knotts Berry Farm.  Kids for Courage is an organization that helps make the lives of terminally ill kids a little better.  What's even more inspiring about the Kids for Courage Organization is that they do it because they love doing it!  They don't take a pay check.  They have a full-time job doing something else.  And when they are together with the kids, it's all about the kids and showing them a great time!  I met some awesome kids who despite their troubles still had smiles on their faces.  We danced, we sang, cheered, rode roller coasters and took lots of pictures.  I am proud to call all of them my friends.  I hope they feel the same.

As a pre-teen, sometimes I get a little whiny about little things.  My hormones are all over the place!  I learned a valuable lesson at Knotts Berry Farm with my new friends - don't forget everything that you have to be thankful for and my problems don't even compare to others who may struggle on a daily basis to do the little things!

On the way home, we were exhausted, but we were also so happy!  Not happy because we had been to Knotts Berry Farm, but happy because of the people we got to spend our day with!  I feel lucky to have met and hung out with Kids for Courage!  I hope that you know or get to know some amazingly awesome people like the ones at Kids for Courage!  It will change your life.

My Dream

Have you ever wished for something and then it comes true?  I'm sure you have!  Well, I made a wish and it came true.  I wished to become part of the Disney family and now they have granted my wish with a mini-series!  It's called "My Dream" and I play a 14 year old girl named Kayla.  And guess what else - she wants to become the next big POPSTAR!  Me, too!  A lot of the story is identical to how things are in my real life.  I'm sure that there are a lot of people out there who can relate to the story and hopefully, "My Dream" will encourage others to follow their dreams and do what it takes to be seen or heard.  It starts July 5 at 9:25 a.m. EST!  But will play 3 other times during the day.  So tune your radios to Radio Disney or listen on the internet or XM radio.  Disney.com will carry some video clips, too.

I'm excited and nervous!    I'm excited because I had a ton of fun working with the Radio Disney crew.  I got to sing and record a song written by a couple of guys who have written songs for Hannah Montana, Jesse McCartney and Ali & AJ to name a few.  Everyone was so supportive and nice!  I'm nervous because now the whole world gets to see and hear.  It's tough putting yourself out there for the whole world to judge, but I did it and I hope you all like it.  So what are you waiting for, go make your dreams come true!

Shake Off the Haters!

Why do people love to hate on others when they do something good?  I have friends who have done some really cool things only to have a few haters pop their "insecure, can't say anything nice, afraid to try it themselves" heads up!  And why do we let those few ugly comments be the only thing we remember.  There could be 100 extremely positive, encouraging, much love comments and 2 ugly comments and those are the ones that matter and get talked about.  You need to stop letting those negative people ruin your moments of glory.  Shake off the Haters!  Brush 'em off your shoulders!  Keep doing what you do and maybe one day the haters will become lovers.  Do you have haters?  Hit me up with your stories about your HATERS!
